“Rīgas satiksme” calls on passenger to follow signals of validators in public transport

“Rīgas satiksme” calls on passenger to follow signals of validators in public transport: the green signal means that the trip has been registered successfully, but the red one signals that the registration failed and you need to buy a ticket.

Those groups of passengers that enjoyed the discounts before, including pupils, students, pensioners, disabled persons of group 3, the liquidators of the consequences of the disaster at Chernobyl nuclear power station, persons aged over 75 years, etc. will be able to use public transport only with full-price tickets.

Tickets at full price may be purchased in advance from ticket vending machines in the city, as well as at more than 400 points of trade across Riga. Passengers can load tickets to the e-tickets they are already using, including personified, non-personified, Riga resident’s cards and Pupil’s e-cards. You can find the list of ticket trade points here: https://www.rigassatiksme.lv/lv/biletes/bilesu-tirdzniecibas-vietas/tirdzniecibas-vietas/

“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that to protect drivers from infection risks, drivers do not sell tickets in public transport anymore.

To avoid situations where red light appears in the validator, “Rīgas satiksme” calls on passengers to check the contents of their personalized and non-personalized tickets, which may be done either in ticket vending machines or on www.rigassatiksme.lv, but holders of Riga resident’ s cards can check their contents in ticket vending machines or at  www.ridziniekakarte.lv.

“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that on March 27 the Interim Administration of Riga City Council amended binding regulations of the local government and cancelled a part of discounts in public transport to reduce passenger flow and limit the spreading of Covid-19.

To reduce the risk of the spreading of virus COVID 19, everybody must be involved, so it is important that people have as little social contacts as possible and would use public transport during the emergency situation only when there is no other alternative. To reduce the spreading of COVID-19, the company calls on clients to stay at home, go on foot or by bicycle.
